THE BASE + BLUSH STANDARD
How we research

Our work starts with published product information, not a claim that we have tried everything.
Follow the source
We use U.S. brand pages for product identity and manufacturer descriptions, and U.S. retailer listings or the photographed label to cross-check pack sizes. Prices are dated references; they are not live checkout guarantees. Ingredient lists can vary by shade and reformulation, so the current label takes priority.
Keep unknowns visible
Unverified prices, sizes and shade counts remain unknown. We do not fill missing facts with estimates or use a star score to imply testing.
Separate research from experience
Coverage and finish descriptions are attributed to the brand. We have not personally used the products in this first edit. Our original visual profiles summarize published specifications. They are not product photographs, packaging depictions, shade samples or performance evidence. Brand imagery will be added only after the relevant material and use are authorized. AI-generated conceptual illustrations are labeled and never used as product, shade or performance evidence. General editorial photographs are licensed stock, credited separately, and do not depict the specific products discussed or establish any celebrity use. See our image credits for sources.
Celebrity sources
Reported use belongs to a particular source and date. Inspired recommendations are our own and do not imply celebrity endorsement, current use or equivalence.
Editorial ownership and corrections
Articles are published under the Base & Blush Editorial byline. This is an editorial name, not a claim of a multi-person testing team or a professional qualification. See our contact and corrections page to report an error. Product records carry their own source-check dates.
